This delicious fruit WE EAT RARELY but it is a TREASURE OF HEALTH: It cures cough, sore throat, bloating, and constipation, and its MILK JUICE is MIRACULOUS for all skin diseases!

That figs are an ideal fruit, good for both food and body, is confirmed by their composition with an abundance of antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins.

In all cultures, the fig tree and fruit are symbols of abundance, fertility, and sweetness. In pharmacopeias, records of Sumerian rulers, and pharmacists, figs are marked as a fruit that cures heart disease, cough, lung diseases, throat diseases, bloating, and constipation.

From the beginning of summer until late autumn, figs ripen, which many forget in the abundance of other seasonal fruits. In doing so, they are accompanied by a bad reputation that they are enemies of the slender line.

However, although they contain about 70 percent carbohydrates and 50 percent invert sugar, a mixture of equal amounts of glucose and fructose, the importance of plenty of fiber and potassium in every diet must be emphasized. Therefore, figs will have more health benefits than harm to a slender figure.

Fresh and ripe figs have always been important in the diet due to their nutrition and healing properties. Fresh figs, especially the purple ones, are an excellent source of polyphenolic antioxidants and flavonoids, such as carotene, lutein, tannins, and chlorogenic acid. Due to the high levels of vitamins A, E, and K, which help to expel free radicals from the body, they protect against infections, strengthening immunity. Figs contain significant amounts of the vitamin B complex, such as niacin, pyridoxine, folate, and pantothenic acid, as well as vitamin C and beta-carotene.

The content of tryptophan in figs helps in the treatment of insomnia and sleep disorders, and due to the composition of minerals, it has a positive effect on the nervous system and also helps with depression.

Due to these nutritional properties, the benefits of consuming figs are manifold, so be sure to test them this summer.
